Its always nice to collaborate with other performers and create something unique. Thats why when Justine Fry from Define Dance in the UK came out to stay in Australia we put together this African Contemporary Dance piece for Gold Coasts RAW Natural born Artists.

Justine Fry a professional Contemporary and African dancer, Phoebe Jessop who is an epic performer all round, with fire, contemporary dance and trained in more dance forms I even know exist and myself who loves performing, put together a 5 minute choreographed African dance and fused our own individual styles into one high energy performance. 

We have named the piece ”Define This” as it is hard to define.

This is just the start of an African show Energy Entertainments are putting together. Stay tuned for more info on this new African Fire Show hitting the Gold Coast soon.

If you missed Buskers By The Creek 2015 in Currumbin, Gold Coast don’t stress Energy Entertainments will be back in 2016 as part of this amazing festival. Energy Entertainments provided 2 fire shows to close both nights of the festival. Buskers By The Creek organisers chose ‘Fire Beats’ a duo live percussion and fire show available throughout Australia to close both nights of the festival.

Saturday night saw 500 festival visitors dancing to funky tunes and live percussion by Energy Entertainments very own Pete Tonks live on the drums. A disco fire show you just cant help but dance too. But if for some reason your not moving fire performer Neal Webb will give you the encouragement to get up and join in, if you not smiling by the end of the show, you need to dance more!

Sunday night Energy Entertainments provided a ‘Tribal Fire performance’ on the sandy shores of the creek. Pete Tonks performing live percussion on the Barge Stage floating on the creek while Neal was dancing with fire on the sand. 1000 people turned up to watch the flames dancing in front of the sunset and close what had been an incredible weekend festival of music, entertainment, food, stalls and so much more!

Keep an eye out for Neal performing his high energy martial art fire shows at the Swell Sculpture Festival and the award winning Buskers By The Creek, both festivals held in Currumbin on the Gold Coast in September and October 2015.

Energy Entertainments are also holding Tai Chi workshops in Goondiwindi School with Kung Fu performances and a fire weapons show including fire sword, fire bow staff and fire chain whip to close the event.

The Heart of Fire Documentary is in full swing and will be completed by the end of the year. Heart of Fire is a journey to find the roots of fire dancing where professional fire performer Neal Webb visits the World Fireknife Championships in Hawaii and trains with the Polynesian warriors to see if he has what it takes to become a fireknife warrior.

There are lots of high energy fire twirling/dancing/spinning shows coming to the Gold Coast and Sydney over the next few months so watch this space and I hope you’re lucky enough to feel the heat of Neal performance.

Fire shows Europe to the Gold Coast Australia

We have landed in London after a stop over in Singapore and Delhi. So far the fire equipment is still in one piece, straight and has not been picked up by customs officers. It’s strange to think there is a problem flying with fire toys? The last thing to burn on the plane would be the metal poles and Kevlar and even a naked flame would not set them alight? A few years ago Adam and I travelled Europe via the sky carrying a huge silver gun case with all of our fire equipment inside. Not once were we stopped and questioned about the case and its contents!

This time flying around Europe I have purchased 2x retractable staffs from ‘Three Worlds’ based in Burleigh Heads Australia. A lot easier to manage and the staffs lock together effortlessly. Also with me is 1 set of monkey fist poi, 2 fire wands and a set of snakes. I will be able to hold peoples attention with these props but wishing I had my fire swords and dragon staff to show people what fire toys are on the market for entertainment.

My first 2014 Europe fire show for a wedding in Somerset is still in question. The old grade 1 listed building has stood since the 18th century and the owners are a little concerned about holding a fire performance on its property. I understand their concern but I still hold a 100% safety record over 10 years and have performed on platforms and podiums 1metre squared inside clubs and conference rooms. I am very confident performing on a grass area the size of a football pitch away from any combustible material but it’s their property and I have to respect their decision. I have my fingers crossed and can entertain!

There is still lots to organize for August and September fire shows on the on the Gold Coast with Swell Sculpture Festival, Currumbin to organize, Coffs Harbor Comedy and Busking festival, Red Earth Festival in Karratha, a wedding in Burleigh Heads, and other private fire shows and fire entertainment!

At the moment the sun is shining and people are smiling its good to be home for summer. Stay tuned for shows and crazy adventures to come!

I love performing at weddings, there is such a majestic atmosphere. We usually perform after the speeches and light up the stage and build the energy of the reception so everybody is ready to socialise and have some fun.

My previous wedding last weekend, and was an Indian wedding on the Sunshine Coast. After the Bollywood dancers had finished and the guests had eaten we performed our duo fire show outside of the marquee over looking Pelican Waters. The guests and staff loved the performance and we wished the wedding couple all the best for the future. The atmosphere was set and people danced back into the marquee with smiles on their faces and ready to start the evening party.

The weekend before we performed on the dance floor for a Greek Wedding which was a little scary performing with fire so close to the brides wedding dress, but again a 100% safety record achieved and always a happy couple.

We offer lots of shows but encourage couples to create their own theme and style for their wedding. Fire Entertainment at weddings is an amazing way to start that flame of love in a marriage.

Weddings are my favourite events for performing fire shows! I hope I get to share my passion with the guests of your wedding.
